Melbourne Central Catholic High School and Florida Institute of Technology Honors Diploma/Partnership Program
In order to offer a variety of accelerated college level classes to advanced students, Melbourne Central Catholic has established a partnership with Florida Institute of Technology. Students who choose to participate in FIT classes may earn college credit at no additional tuition cost and may be eligible to earn a Melbourne Central Catholic Honors Diploma.
MCC Honor’s Diploma options are available to students who chose to enroll at FIT and meet specific graduation criteria. These criteria include:
- Application and Acceptance to the Honors Diploma Program
- Application and Acceptance into the Partnership Program
FIT courses are taught by highly qualified faculty members, students are expected to do college level work and to be held to college standards for grading.
All grades will be recorded on an official FIT transcript and the MCC transcript where they will earn 1.0 weighted designation
Entrance requirements include a minimum of a B in related high school coursework, competitive SAT or ACT scores, and a counselor recommendation. A SAT minimum of a 550 Math for Math classes and 550 for English classes is required. A comparable ACT score (26 composite) is also acceptable.
