Merit-Based Scholarships

Students who earn the highest scores on our Fall Scholarship/Placement Exam receive academic scholarships.

Submit an MCC application for admission on or before November 1, 2025 Click here

Available Scholarships

The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) and The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO): Available to students regardless of family household income, who are residents of Florida and eligible to enroll in a K-12 public school. There are no income requirements.

Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES-UA) – Formerly known as McKay and Gardiner Scholarships: Supports students with unique abilities.

Families may not accept a scholarship from more than one of these State-Funded Scholarship programs for the same time period.

* We do not accept funding through the AAA Scholarship Foundation.

Need-Based Scholarships

MCC Financial Assistance

MCC annually awards financial assistance to families who demonstrate financial need. We use FACTS Grant and Aid ($38 application fee) to determine family need. Please note that families must have a Florida state-funded scholarship before we consider awarding need-based financial aid.

We review need-based awards annually. Families must complete a FACTS Grant and Aid application each year.

Special Scholarships

The David Franco Community Service Scholarship
Named in memory of David Franco ’02, the scholarship recognizes an incoming freshman active in service to their communities. The recipient of this scholarship receives a $500 scholarship, renewable for four years

The Joseph M Verlander Citizenship Scholarship
Named in memory of Joseph Verlander, a parent of three MCC graduates who established the award, the scholarship recognizes an incoming freshman who presents good academic credentials and demonstrates exemplary citizenship. The recipient of this scholarship receives a $500 scholarship, renewable for four years.
