A tradition of faith
Melbourne Central Catholic High School (MCC) was founded in 1961 by Archbishop Joseph Hurley, D.O., under the support of the Dioceses of St. Augustine. Since its humble beginnings, MCC has grown to become more than a school – it is a community of students, parents, faculty, and alumni who are committed to the tradition of Catholic education. This commitment drives and inspires us to meet the needs of our youth, even in an ever-changing world.
The enriching environment that students experience at Melbourne Central Catholic celebrates the individual potential of each and every student. Character development and Christian values are intertwined within every aspect of campus life. Our faculty strives to challenge, motivate and guide students to develop into successful, responsible and compassionate adults.
The legacy of Melbourne Central Catholic is one that reaches well beyond its campus. It is a living and lasting legacy that continues to touch many lives.
A Catholic tradition
MCC is founded on the belief that each student can be taught to nurture and develop his or her religious faith and spirituality. One is challenged to witness his or her faith in daily activities. The Catholic theology taught within our four-year curriculum will prepare young people for the challenges of an ever-changing world. Each and every student is encouraged to give is or her special gift back to the community through community service. Through this program our students provide over 20,000 hours of community service annually.
Besides our curriculum, we offer the opportunity for students to attend spiritual retreats. This program focuses on the students’ relationship with God through prayer and their relationship with other students. Students also participate in regular liturgies, Holy Week services and reconciliation services. Our students, faculty and entire community celebrate the Holy Eucharist together.
MCC truly provides an atmosphere where ordinary children of God are doing extraordinary things.
