New Director of Institutional Advancement

Brother Joseph Umile, C.S.C. has been named as MCC’s new director of institutional advancement. Brother Joseph replaces Sandy Bodfish who retired after 30 years in development at MCC.

A native of Connecticut, Brother Joseph is a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross. He has taught in Connecticut, New York, and served as headmaster of Notre Dame International School in Rome, Italy. Brother Joseph recently completed a 14 year term as president of Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis and was on sabbatical at the Holy Cross residence in Cocoa Beach last year. Although new as a full-time resident, his family moved to Barefoot Bay in 1982 so Brevard has been home for quite awhile. Founded in France, the Congregation of Holy Cross is a world-wide teaching order of brothers and priests. In the U.S. Holy Cross sponsors some 15 high schools in the Northeast, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Ohio, and New Orleans along with colleges in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Austin, and the University of Notre Dame. Holy Cross also serves in Canada, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, India, and Bangladesh. While continuing the great fund raising activities built up by Sandy Bodfish, Brother Joseph hopes to strengthen our efforts in communications, alumni relations and assisting Tracy Steele with admissions promotion.
